Waves, Support for Adults Bereaved by Suicide – starts August

Free 8 week grief support & education programme for adults bereaved by suicide.
Explore the impact of bereavement, suicide and stigma, aspects of your grief, care strategies for yourself and others, adjust to living with loss, reduce isolation and connect with others impacted by suicide.

If you’ve lost a loved one to suicide or suspected suicide, you don’t have to face this alone.

The Waves programme is an eight-session group programme designed to support people who have lost someone to suicide.

What to expect

Losing someone this way changes your life. We start by getting to know each other, making sure everyone feels safe and respected. Then we talk about the many ways grief can appear and share ways to cope. Everyone’s journey is different, but we talk about all the hard feelings and questions, like anger, sadness, guilt, and wondering why.

We also make time to talk about how suicide affects our families and friends, and explore ways to rebuild and strengthen those relationships.

As the sessions go on, we focus on healing. We find comfort in rituals, share memories, and talk about how we want to remember our loved ones.

We talk about how grief changes over time, share stories of hope and strength, and discuss ways to look forward.

How to join the programme

Our next programme will start in August and run for 8 weeks.

Waves is delivered by trained facilitators in a safe, nurturing environment. We confirm the days and times for our meetings after consulting with attendees.
