Equip’s Transitional Housing Service.
Whai Pūmau is a short-term accommodation service for adults aged 18 years and older with a mental health diagnosis. The service is designed for individuals to learn how to live independently while looking for a permanent housing solution. The rent is set at market rate and includes utilities.
We support our clients spiritually, mentally and physically and offer a variety of services to suit their individual needs.
Our team will work closely with your responsible clinician to help you manage your wellbeing, as well as providing:

a room in a shared two-bedroom house for up to three months
- independent living with support from our Community Support Workers

a house close to community amenities
i.e. walking distance to the supermarket, library, mall, bus routes, gym, Salvation Army and WINZ offices -
bed linen, cutlery, and crockery

support to find permanent accommodation

a tenancy reference for new landlords
-
WINZ assistance for weekly rent and bond
Who is eligible?
Anyone over the age of 18 who has a mental health diagnosis such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, and is engaged with a clinical team.
