CST helps maintain everyday routines, connections, and overall well-being for longer
Cognitive Stimulation Theraphy (CST) to help people living with dementia mate wareware stay mentally and socially active for longer.

Staying mentally and socially active can make a real difference for people living with dementia mate wareware by helping maintain everyday routines, connections, and well-being for longer.

Research shows that the benefits of CST include improved global cognition, concentration and executive functioning. By focusing on conversation, individuals also target their language skills and fluency, which helps them express their thoughts more effectively.

Our Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) programme is delivered through small, supportive group sessions. They’re designed to gently engage the mind and are kept intentionally small to create space for connection. Through regular participation, CST can help support memory, communication, and quality of life for people living with mild to moderate dementia.

Attendees enjoy a range of activities:

  • Shared conversations and storytelling reduce feelings of loneliness
  • Discussion of everyday topics and current events to stay connected and increase overall confidence
  • art and creative expression
  • music
  • word and thinking games
  • light physical activities

Participants and their whānau / family are invited to an introductory session. Come along to meet the team, understand how the sessions work, and see if it feels like the right fit.
