If you enjoy working with people, helping them regain the skills and confidence to lead a meaningful life, and you’re practical as well as empathetic, you could be a Community Support Worker (CSW) for Equip, one of Auckland’s leading Mental Health organisations.
A CSW works in partnership with the other person on recovery goals leading to a satisfying life. You’ll work autonomously with service users living in the community in the North Shore and Rodney district, and in partnership with the clinical teams and Family/Whānau. The work entails helping service users reach self-directed goals and maximise strengths and facilitating group-based activities for older people in our community.
Due to maternity leave, we are seeking a CSW (Older Adults Service) for an 8-month fixed term contract, starting early in December 2020.
Although no previous experience is required, it will be advantage if you already have Level 4 Certificate in Health and Well-being or working towards this. The role is also suitable for those who have recently graduated with a social work, psychology, counselling or occupational therapy degree and seek to gain experience in the field of mental health.
This fixed term position is for 24 hours (3 days) per week during weekdays with some flexibility required to meet the needs of the service users.

• Be a team player who is self-motivated and can work autonomously and collaboratively
• Hold a valid full NZ driver licence
